S.T.O.P.
Sadly at school things happen in the playground and in school that make children unhappy. Pocklington Community Junior School is no different. The children in school have written this guide to help stop unacceptable behaviour.
What is unacceptable behaviour?
It may be name calling, laughing, staring, pushing, crowding, following, kicking, punching, threatening, telling lies about others, poking stealing, pulling faces, spoiling other children's games, racist comments, swearing, getting money by intimidation and isolating people. It is not a single incident. It is S.T.O.P. (Several Times On Purpose) with intention to hurt.
What can you do about it?
DEBUG - Ignore them
Walk away
Ask them firmly to stop
Tell an adult
DON'T Argue with the bully
DON'T Let the bully see you are upset
DON'T Fight back
DON'T Be pressurised by the bullies to break rules and do unacceptable things
Report it
There are people you can talk to such as playground buddies, friends, staff on duty, teachers, parents, school council representatives or anyone you feel comfortable talking to. You could write a note in your planner or diary.
KEEP TELLING SOMEONE UNTIL YOU FEEL HAPPIER
At school we will listen to you, investigate the problem and make sure the situation is resolved
PARENTS - please discuss this with your child to help them understand how they can deal with issues arising in school.
